Holiday Camp Activites
We worked with Kate when she came to give a dance class on a children's charity activity holiday. Our group comprised 26 children (and 30 adults) and had a variety of needs, with some able-bodied children and others in wheelchairs. Kate's routine was pitch perfect: complicated enough to keep everyone interested but simple enough for everyone to join in. She was brilliant with the children, had boundless energy and wholeheartedly got into the spirit of the holiday. All the kids absolutely loved the class and were keen to recreate the dance at the disco on our last night (and the routine even translated to the London club dance-floor when all the helpers went out at the end of the week!). I'd recommend Kate highly - she was great.

Our Wedding Day
'Thank you!! For doing a stellar job at instructing the much-enjoyed dancing at our wedding, and Thank you too for choreographing our wonderful first dance. We were very pleased with it and more than that, we are so much more at ease dancing with each other whenever.'

Our Wedding Dance
Tracy and I had just about the most perfect day we could have wished for - capped off beautifully by our first dance!
We both just wanted to say (we'll probably be saying this several more times too) thank you so much for helping us. It surprised everyone and the kiss at the end was a perfect picture moment!
We're both looking forward to improving and learning new dances when we return.

Wedding Dance
'Thank you for your help and giving us confidence to do our first dance. People said we were great and that is soley down to you.'Just an observation from me (Kate - instructor) during the first lesson they confessed that they had tried in the living room to dance together without success. Once I described the hold they should be in and asked Richard to sway so that they moved together, Jude was very emotional and exclaimed 'that is lovely!!'

Wedding Dance
Just thought I would drop you a line; we had our first lesson with Lynda last night and it went very well. She has enormous patience, (luckily), and a very pleasant manner of teaching, we both liked her very much. We even had some laughs which is not easy when you have 2 left feet!
We have every confidence in her and are looking forward to the end result.

Hairspray trip - Mini Groovers
'I loved everthing about Hairspray! I have some favourite parts, I will tell you some of them. The person playing Tracy was a great dancer and singer. When Edna, Tracy's mum (who was played by a man) kissed Wilbur, I laughed so hard I turned red, but theres more. when were on the trip Kate had to give Shannon a piggy back because she had hurt herself. I really liked Hairspray. I hope the other girsl liked it as much as me. Thank you for taking me Kate' - Meghan aged 9yrsOur night out to Hairspray was full of big hair and big laughs. starting with a mad, high-heeled, high speed piggy back dash to the theatre, to the touching yet hilarious rendition ofTimeless to me, where Les Dennis and Brian Conley struggled to keep a straight face and ending with everyone up and out of their seats, dancing. It was a fab evening of high energy, glamourous costumes, comedy with fantastic singing and dancing. all in all a great night out which will be remembered for a long time. Thanks Kate'

Hen Party - Anouska at Alton Towers
i'm writing to say a huge thank you to both yourself and Phil for making my Hen Party so much fun. I had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. All members of my party have said how much they enjoyed the dance lesson and some have even been inspired to take it up the hobby of salsa dancing. The whole afternoon was perfect from start to finish and I was very grateful to you both for coming to re join the party in the evening for more cha cha cha's and mambo's. It was great. Once again, many thanks to you both

Birthday Party - Sian 9yrs
Just a quick note to thank you again for the time you spent with the girls on Sunday, I didn’t really get chance to speak to you as the mayhem unfolded as you left!
Sian and all of her friends had a great time and really enjoyed the routine you taught them. No doubt they are now planning a way to perform their show to others at school, even if only on the playground. The parents also commented on how good it was so you may get a few enquiries from them.

Counting the days
I have now been teaching dance at Drake Hall Womens Open Prison for 3 months and love to chat to the women before we start dancing. Last week one of the girls said ‘I only have 2 more salsa sessions before I am out!’ I was so touched that she was counting her ‘time’ in dance classes rather than days.

Norwich Union Girls Active Day - with Dame Kelly Holmes
‘May I take this opportunity to thank you for leading the Salsa and for Paul leading the Hip Hop sessions held during our recent Regional Centre Road Show on 13th November. As you will no doubt agree the girls had a fantastic time and we have had a number of schools contact us to say thank you and that is no small part down to you and Paul.’

It made me laugh big time.....
I think your approach is terrific…we tried another class but were seriously irritated by the rather awkward ‘social’ side. No partner swapping, no ‘fun’, so where almost everybody in the class was female those of us who were leading just felt forced into a quasi-male role, rather than one side of a partnership. You reduce the embarrassment factor by having us swap partners and by loosening up the possible awkwardness. Thank you. Glenys and I come for the exercise, because it is a relaxation from our busy lives, and because we love the music. I have NO natural grace, but nevertheless love to dance. For different reasons, neither of our husbands can come and take part. It is great to have found a class we know we shall be happy going to

What do you call a dance floor full of Accountants?
There may be other answers, but when led by Kate of Groove Academy it’s called a great night!
Kate came to the CIMA Spring Ball to give Salsa lessons. Hardly anyone remained sitting as the teaching began, and I cannot remember seeing so many accountants letting their hair down and having fun. Comments included “I’ve never been to a CIMA event like this”.
Thanks to Kate for providing so much enjoyment and opening many of us to the fun and pleasure of Salsa.
